How to Make a Donation

Donations to the Leacock Foundation (charitable registration number: 890014541RR0001) are always welcome and put to immediate use making a difference in the lives of children.

• Donors interested in sponsoring a student to attend the Get Ahead Project School in South Africa should download this PDF document for more information about this program.

1) Donating by Cheque:

Make your cheque payable to the “Stephen Leacock Foundation for Children” and mail it to the following address:

2) Donating Online with a Credit Card*:

Visiting www.canadahelps.org and searching for the “Stephen Leacock Foundation for Children.” CanadaHelps accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express. The website will walk you through the process and instantly transact your donation, providing you with an immediate tax receipt for the full value of the donation, delivered by e-mail. Note: a 3% transaction fee is levied against the Foundation (not the donor) for this service and the balance is deposited to our account within two weeks via electronic funds transfer.

3) Donating Directly with a Credit Card:

If you prefer that we process your credit card internally, please fill out and fax this form to 416-489-9309, or mail it to our office, or e-mail the information listed below to . 4) Donating Gifts of Publicly Traded Securities:

Publicly traded securities (including stocks, bonds, bills and mutual fund units) can be donated directly to the Leacock Foundation. This form of gift can be made as a direct transfer of securities from your account to our investment account and are eligible for a tax receipt for the fair market value of the gift as assessed at close of the market, on the date of transfer or delivery.
